BB&D Prevails Before Court of Appeals on Litigation Concerning Client’s Authority to Develop Stadiums

BB&D, on behalf of the Regional Convention and Sports Complex Authority, prevailed before the state Court of Appeals with respect to a trial court’s ruling concerning the RSA’s authority to develop stadium complexes and other issues. The trial court originally ruled that the RSA is the proper party to build, finance, and do everything necessary to build a new stadium in St. Louis and also struck down a city ordinance requiring a public vote for funding a new stadium. Individuals that tried to intervene in the case, but were not allowed to do so, attempted to appeal the entire case. BB&D Law Firm Seeks to Protect Regional Convention and Sports Complex Facility Asset

St. Louis based BB&D, on behalf of the Regional Convention and Sports Complex Authority, today filed litigation against the St. Louis Rams concerning the training facility owned by the Authority in St. Louis County. Civil litigation attorneys Bob Blitz and Chris Bauman are working on the litigation. Each year, Missouri Lawyers Weekly solicits nominations from the profession at large for Attorney of the Year, and the recipient for 2016 is Robert Blitz. Not surprisingly, announcement of the award prominently featured Bob’s contribution to maintaining St. Louis as an NFL city through his work on the St. Louis Stadium Task Force, to which he was nominated by Governor Nixon over a year ago. James B. Deutsch Successfully Helps Missouri Nurse Maintain License

The Missouri Board of Nursing conducted an investigation of a BB&D client’s Missouri nursing license. The Missouri Board of Nursing had originally proposed a settlement that included five years of probation, and many other onerous requirements. After assisting the nurse with the investigative process and negotiations with the Board of Nursing, the Board issued a “Letter of Concern” and sealed the complaint. BB&D’s client can now pursue her nursing career with a fully valid license and without having to disclose the complaint.
