St. Louis law firm BB&D won a Motion for Summary judgment for a title insurance company where Plaintiff, a local bank, was seeking over $4 Million Dollars in damages. Plaintiff sued Defendant, a national title insurance company, claiming damages for fraud, negligence, and breach of contract against the title insurer.  Plaintiff also filed a Motion for Summary Judgment claiming it was entitled to damages on all counts.  The trial court granted summary judgment for the title insurer and denied the bank's motion. Jason Turk Named to Truman State University Alumni Board

Jason currently serves as President of St. Louis Area Alumni Chapter, a position he has held since 2010. He serves on the steering committee for the St. Louis Alumni Golf Tournament, which has raised several thousand dollars for the University’s endowed scholarship fund. Litigation Attorney Chris Bauman wins Missouri Bar Foundation David Dixon Appellate Advocacy Award for 2011

BB&D litigation attorney Chris Bauman was recently honored with the Missouri Bar Foundation David Dixon Appellate Advocacy Award for 2011. Chris was recognized for his successful appeal before the Western District Court of Appeals in Great Rivers Habitat Alliance v. City of St. Peters. The case concerned, among other issues, constitutional issues related to the blighting of productive farm land and the tension between the “fairly debatable” municipal action standard and Missouri’s summary judgment standard. The appellate Court’s opinion is reported at 246 S.W.3d 556. The David J. Dixon Appellate Advocacy Awards were created by the Missouri Bar Foundation to recognize outstanding achievement in appellate practice by young lawyer members of The Missouri Bar.
