St. Louis based BB&D, on behalf of the Regional Convention and Sports Complex Authority, today filed litigation against the St. Louis Rams concerning the training facility owned by the Authority in St. Louis County. Civil litigation attorneys Bob Blitz and Chris Bauman are working on the litigation. The Authority is seeking to prevent the Rams from attempting to purchase  the training facility several years in the future by exercising a purported purchase option.

“The training facility is an important asset for the Authority and for the region,” said Authority Chairman, Jim Shrewsbury. “Missouri law is clear that there is no valid purchase option on the property.  In order to make sure that the Authority can properly market, value, and use this asset, we have taken action to obtain certainty about the invalidity of the option.”

The Authority filed the lawsuit in the Circuit Court of the County of St. Louis, 21st Judicial Circuit.  In January, after the Rams filed an application for relocation, the NFL owners voted to allow the Rams to relocate away from St. Louis.  Shortly thereafter the Rams also set a date of April 30, 2016, for the expiration of their time in the training facility.
