BB&D has announced that Judge Glenn Norton, after 20 years as a trial and appellate court Judge, is now a member of the firm.  Glenn will concentrate his practice in complex litigation as well as mediation, arbitration and special master appointments.

Before taking the bench, he practiced law in the firm of Briscoe and Norton in New London, Missouri.  They represented numerous banks, loan companies, a hospital and many other business interests.  They prosecuted and defended numerous tort cases, many of which were tried to verdict before a jury.  Glenn served as a trial judge for 6 years in Ralls County, presiding over dozens of jury trials and hundreds of bench trials.  In 2001, he accepted a position with Governor Bob Holden to serve as his Chief Legal Counsel.  In 2002, Governor Holden appointed Glenn to the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District.  He was the Chief Judge 2005-2006, and presiding judge in a division multiple years.  He authored 330 published opinions in his tenure on the Court.  For the last 5 years, he presided over the settlement docket at the Court.

Judge Norton graduated with a B.A. in English from Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri, in 1982.  He earned his law degree from the University of Missouri School of Law in Columbia, Missouri, in 1985.  He was named to the Dean’s List and represented the school at the National Mock Trial competition.
