In a recent order, the Missouri State Tax Commission ruled that the St. Charles County Assessor had incorrectly assessed property owned by a Blitz, Bardgett & Deutsch client at more than twice its actual value. The property is improved with a multi-screen movie theater. After conducting an evidentiary hearing, the Tax Commission reduced the client’s 2011/2012 tax assessment, and thus its tax bill, by more than 50.5%. BB&D attorney Chris Bauman and other litigation team members represented the client during the appeal. The Tax Commission specifically acknowledged the effectiveness of BB&D’s written arguments and cross-examination.
